Good Afternoon!
I hope that everyone has transitioned to the new routine for distance learning! We are all in this together, so please be patient as staff also are during a time of transition. They have been working hard to develop the best plan to continue to educate all kids through this pandemic. Every school district was required to develop a Distance Learning Plan that identified how we would continue to educate our children in an online envrionment. The Plan was submitted to the state for approval from Superintendent Baesler and Governor Burgum. We received notification today that our plan had been approved and teachers can move forward teaching in a virtual world!
This is a transition for the kids and you as parents, but also for the teachers. Staff may have technology at their fingertips to provide engaging lessons, but to actually create an Distance Learning environment for grades PreK-12..... is a whole different story! I am so proud of our staff for pulling up their boot straps, and taking the challenge we were given to create a high quality distance education opporutnities for the students. Lessons are aligned to the North Dakota State Standards, textbooks and workbooks are still being used, and teachers connect with the kids presenting new information or just to have great conversations!
I am attaching a link to the Fessenden-Bowdon Distance Learning Plan that may give you insight to what the new learning environment looks like. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Stay healthy!
